How to get to Katavi?
Katavi National Park is accessible by air, road
and train. The best, but most expensive way to get there is to fly
... Mbalimbali Lodges, the owner of the camp, have their own aircrafts
and fly regularly (at the moment 2 times a week) from Arusha to
Katavi.
Driving to Katavi is possible but not recommended
because it is very far, and roads are unpassable during rains. From
Kigoma it takes about 8-10 hours.
Katavi Nationalpark can also be reached by 36 hrs train journey
from Dar es Salaam (until Mpande).
Ruring the rain season (April and May) the park
is inaccessible, and the lodge is closed.
