Pemba Lodge was built in 2010
on a tiny island just on the West Coast of Pemba, and is one of
the few lodges on the island. Its remote location, and its stunning
beach makes it a unique experience for honeymooners and environmental
concerned travelers, looking for unspoilt holidays.
Pemba lodge is build almost entirely
of local materials, and consists only of 6 bungalows, reducing the
impact on travelers in this area and guaranteeing personalised service.
All bungalows are equipped with modern, eco friendly compost toilets
and are powered by solar energy.
All bungalows have:
- Spacious room with hand made wooden Dhow furniture
- Ensuite bathrooms with shower and toilet
- Mosquito nets
- Ceiling fans
- Private verandah with stunning sea view
- Daily room cleaning
- Tea and coffee making facilities
Other facilities of the Pemba Lodge:
- restaurant (all bookings are on full board)
- bar
- room service
- laundry service
- massage
- excursions, like sailing, snorkeling,
kayaking, village visits and more...
You can either get a dhow transfer from Nungwi,
Zanzibar island (depending on wind: sailing!) which takes around
3 hrs, or you can fly to Pemba from where the lodge arranges the
transport to the lodge (around 1 hrs to get there, by car and boat).
